Jason’s seven marathon wonders of the world!

For most people, completing a marathon is a lifetime achievement. For Williams Environmental CEO, Jason Whitmore, it’s just the beginning…

Jason has set himself a demanding global endurance challenge – running seven marathons across all continents – all while raising vital funds for Caudwell Children, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of additional needs children across the UK.

The ambitious challenge combines Jason’s passion for endurance events with his determination to make a genuine difference.

“I’ve always enjoyed pushing myself and taking on new challenges, but I wanted to do something that was truly memorable while making a difference for a worthwhile cause,” Jason explains. “Running seven marathons across the world in one year felt like a perfect opportunity to test myself both physically and mentally while raising awareness and funds for a charity that’s close to my heart.”

Jason is tackling the challenge around his business commitments at Williams Environmental, allowing him to experience different parts of the world while continuing to lead the business.

His journey is already underway, with the next confirmed events including:

  • Australia – September 2026
  • New York – November 2026

Jason hopes to make the most of each destination

Further marathons across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Antarctica will complete the incredible seven-continent challenge.

Although there will be little time for sightseeing, Jason hopes to make the most of each destination.

“Most of the time will be spent travelling, preparing for the next marathon and recovering,” he says. “But while I’m there, I also enjoy making new business contacts and visiting different facilities to see how waste is managed, recycled and converted into energy around the world. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring new ideas back to support our own business.”

While every marathon presents its own challenge, one stands above the rest.

“I think Antarctica will probably be the toughest because of the freezing temperatures and unpredictable conditions. It will be just as much a mental challenge as a physical one.”

Preparation has involved months of structured training, strength work, careful nutrition and recovery.

“The biggest challenge won’t just be the running – it’s going to be the recovery,” Jason laughs. “I’m not getting any younger. Staying healthy and managing fatigue will be key.”

Despite the physical demands, Jason says his motivation never changes.

“Knowing why I’m doing it keeps me going. Every training session and every marathon is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Caudwell Children. There will undoubtedly be difficult moments, but remembering the people the charity supports, along with the encouragement from family, friends, the Williams team and everyone who has donated, will help me keep putting one foot in front of the other.”

Supporting Caudwell Children and their families

Jason chose to support Caudwell Children because of the lasting impact the charity has on families across the UK.

The charity provides practical and emotional support to disabled and autistic children, helping them access specialist equipment, therapies, assessments and services that can transform their lives and help them reach their full potential.

“Their work has a genuine, lasting impact, and I wanted my challenge to help a charity that makes such a positive difference. Knowing that the money raised can help children access the support and equipment they need gives every mile I run an even greater purpose.”

Everyone at Williams Environmental is incredibly proud of Jason’s commitment, and we’d love our customers, suppliers, partners and friends to get behind him as he takes on this extraordinary challenge.

Whether you can make a donation, share his fundraising page or simply follow his progress, every bit of support helps make a difference.
