Williams Environmental is proud to announce an exciting new chapter in its longstanding relationship with West Ham United, becoming the Club’s new Back of Shorts Partner.
The partnership will see the Williams Environmental brand feature on the back of West Ham United’s playing shorts across the Club’s Men’s and Women’s teams and Academy sides – putting the Williams name alongside the famous claret and blue and providing an exciting national and international platform for the business.
For Williams, however, this partnership means considerably more than just brand exposure.
A partnership with real history behind it
Williams Environmental is a family-run waste management company with more than 30 years’ experience, providing specialist hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services to businesses across the UK.
Established in 1994 and operating from its Riverside Transfer Station in Grays, Essex, Williams has grown from a regional business serving London and the South East into a nationwide operation. Today, its experienced team provides complete waste management solutions spanning collection, transportation, treatment, recycling and disposal, alongside specialist environmental and industrial services.
Despite that growth, Williams remains very much a family business with strong roots in the local area – and those roots come with a longstanding love of West Ham United.
For Williams Environmental CEO Jason Whitmore and his family, supporting the Hammers has been passed down through the generations, from Jason’s grandfather to his father, then to Jason and now his own children.
It is a story reflected across much of the Williams team, where support for West Ham runs deep and many employees regularly attend matches.
That makes seeing the Williams Environmental name become part of the West Ham kit a particularly special moment.
“Seeing our brand on the shorts is going to be a very proud moment for all of us,” says Jason. “This partnership gives us a fantastic platform to showcase Williams Environmental alongside West Ham United, but there’s a real personal connection behind it too.
“West Ham has been part of our family for generations and so many of our team support the Club. To see Williams represented in this way is incredibly exciting.”
From a long standing relationship to an official partnership
Williams’ relationship with West Ham has developed steadily over the past six or seven years, with the company previously supporting the Club through its Club London membership and programme advertising.
Becoming an official Back of Shorts Partner represents a major step forward in that relationship and comes at an exciting time for Williams as the company continues to build its presence across the UK.
“Over the last six or seven years, our relationship with the Club has grown, and it’s always been great for the team to come down to West Ham and see the Williams name in the programme,” says Jason.
“This new sponsorship is a massive step for the business in terms of brand awareness, but it’s also about creating an even stronger bond between West Ham and the Williams team.”
The partnership will provide Williams Environmental with significant visibility throughout the season, alongside wider opportunities across West Ham United’s matchday and digital platforms.
West Ham United has described Williams Environmental as a business that shares the Club’s commitment to its local community, while highlighting the relationship that has already developed between the two organisations.
This celebrates how Williams are growing nationally, while remaining proud of roots
The partnership comes as Williams continues to develop its nationwide waste management operation while maintaining the values on which the company was originally built.
Environmental responsibility remains at the heart of the business, with Williams continually working to maximise recycling and recovery, minimise waste sent to landfill and provide customers with responsible, compliant solutions for even the most challenging waste streams.
The company also remains committed to employing locally wherever possible and investing in training and development, giving its team members opportunities to build long-term careers within the chemical and waste management industry.
“We’re proud of where we come from and proud to employ locally, giving people the chance to train, develop and build a career with Williams,” adds Jason.
“To now strengthen our partnership with a club that means so much to our family and our team is something we’re incredibly proud of. It feels like a big moment for Williams and we’re genuinely excited about what the future holds.”
From a family business established in Essex more than three decades ago to a nationwide operation whose name will now appear alongside one of the most recognisable clubs in English football, it represents another significant milestone in the Williams Environmental story.
And for a company containing so many lifelong Hammers, seeing that Williams name on the kit is going to make this particular milestone very hard to beat.
