Overview:
Williams Environmental was approached by a leading chemical manufacturer to assist in the safe and compliant sampling, identification, collection, and disposal of 44 Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) filled with butanol. The client required a comprehensive service that would ensure the waste was handled in accordance with hazardous waste regulations, from initial testing to final disposal.
Challenge:
The client’s site had 44 IBCs containing an unknown grade of butanol, stored in various conditions. These IBCs needed to be safely identified and transported for disposal while minimising any environmental impact. The challenge was to accurately determine the chemical composition of the butanol and organise its safe removal without interrupting the client’s ongoing operations.
Solution:
Our expert team deployed to perform on site sampling. The XRF machine provided a detailed chemical analysis, confirming the composition of the butanol. After identification, our logistics team efficiently organised the collection of the IBCs, ensuring compliance with ADR regulations and all health and safety protocols.
Client Review:
Williams handled the entire process with exceptional professionalism. From the accurate identification of the chemicals to the safe removal and disposal of the IBCs, we were extremely impressed with the team’s efficiency and attention to detail. We felt confident throughout that all environmental and safety regulations were adhered to.
