Overview:
Williams Environmental was engaged by a leading player in the construction industry to manage a complex COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) clearance. The site had accumulated over 60 different waste streams, creating a significant logistical and compliance challenge. The client required a safe, efficient, and expert approach to clear the hazardous materials in a timely manner to keep their project on track.
Challenge:
The site contained a large and varied inventory of hazardous substances that needed to be accurately identified, sorted, and disposed of in full compliance with COSHH regulations. The client needed an experienced partner who could provide a streamlined solution and manage a rapid clearance without compromising safety or environmental regulations.
Solution:
Williams Environmental deployed a senior site chemist to the location. Upon arrival, our chemist performed a detailed assessment of the waste, identifying and categorizing all 60+ different waste streams. The waste materials included flammable substances, corrosive chemicals, and other hazardous products that required careful handling and disposal.
With the waste properly identified and segregated, two articulated lorry loads were arranged and collected on the same day. The transportation and disposal of the hazardous waste streams were carried out in full compliance with all applicable legislation, ensuring both environmental protection and regulatory adherence.
Client Review:
Williams Environmental provided an exceptional level of service during a very complex COSHH clearance on our site. Their senior chemist's expertise and professionalism were key in identifying and managing over 60 different waste streams. We were particularly impressed by how quickly and efficiently the team handled the entire process, completing the collection on the same day. I highly recommend Williams Environmental for any hazardous waste management needs."
